1.     Click Start. | All Programs | Maintenance | Weekly | Disk Cleanup

2.   Select the drive ( Usually C: )

Spybot - Search & Destroy detects and removes spyware, a relatively new kind of threat not yet covered by all anti-virus applications. Spyware silently tracks your surfing behavior to create a marketing profile for you that is transmitted without your knowledge to the compilers and sold to advertising companies. If you see new toolbars in your Internet Explorer that you haven't intentionally installed, if your browser crashes inexplicably, or if your home page has been "hijacked" (or changed without your knowledge), your computer is most probably infected with spyware. To Run Spybot,  Click Start. | All Programs | Maintenance | Weekly | Spybot- Search & Destroy

 

 

Click Search for Updates

 

Select one of the USA sites for best speed

 

 

You may see a list of available updates . . it's ok to select all of them

 

It will then download the updates

 

Click the Immunize button to enable protection against rouge websites

 

Click the Search & Destroy button in the left column, then Check for Problems

 

 

Spybot will now scan your system for spyware . . this may take up to half an hour.  If you see a prompt that Spybot needs to restart to complete the cleaning, click Yes
